The Monitor is aimed at desktop use with any Raspberry Pi. The Touch Display 2 models are designed for touch projects but do not work with the Pi 500 or the Pi 400, which have no DSI port.
Compatibility and pitfalls
- HDMI cable not included : you will need an official micro-HDMI to HDMI cable for Pi 4, Pi 5, Pi 400 and Pi 500, or an official HDMI cable for models with standard HDMI.
- Powered by the Pi : the display switches to power-saving mode, with limited brightness and volume, because a Pi USB-A port cannot supply 1.5 A.
- Full brightness : use a USB-C Power Delivery source of at least 1.5 A, such as theofficial USB-C 15.3 W power supply.
- Flickering display : if the Pi 5 itself is powered at 5 V 3 A, there may not be enough current; change the power source.
- VESA mounting : spacers (not included) are needed to leave room for the cables.
