How the Raspberry Pi boards are mounted: vertical mounting in individual inserts

This is what sets this model apart. Unlike mounts that hold the boards flat, the UM-SBC-308 mounts the Raspberry Pi boards vertically, on their edge, lined up side by side at the front. Each board sits in a dedicated “one slot” insert (ZR-SBC-904) : you first screw the Pi onto its insert, then the insert is secured in its slot in the rack. This modular design explains the height of 2U, needed to hold the boards upright with the clearance required for connectors, HATs and heat dissipation.
