Compatibility and pitfalls
- Raspberry Pi 4 only : neither the Raspberry Pi 5 (ports moved) nor the Raspberry Pi 3 fits properly.
- Passive cooling : under heavy sustained load, the processor may throttle its frequency; the official fan solves this.
- HAT : the lid must be removed to fit an expansion board.
- Board only : the case is supplied without Raspberry Pi or fan.
Assembly in a few minutes
Shut down and unplug the Raspberry Pi 4, remove the microSD card if it sticks out, then lay the board flat in the base, lining up the micro-HDMI, audio and USB-C sockets with their cutouts. Next clip on the upper section, then the removable lid. Reinsert the microSD card through its cutout and plug in your cables: no tools are needed. If you add the official fan, it attaches under the lid and connects to the GPIO; remember to install it before closing the case. To fit a HAT, simply remove the lid: the GPIO header becomes accessible without taking the board out of the case.
