Inspired by the legendary pad of the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), it lets you replay your favourite classic 8-bit games on the original NES as well as on Nintendo Switch, PC and USB retro consoles, all wirelessly thanks to its ultra-low-latency 2.4 GHz radio technology.

Does the Retro-Bit Origin8 work on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2?
Yes. It is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite and the Switch 2 via its USB receiver plugged into the dock or directly via USB-C. It can also power on the console remotely via the Home button.
Can it really be used on an original NES?
Yes. This is one of the Origin8's great strengths: a dedicated NES receiver is included. Plug it into the controller port of your original 8-bit NES and enjoy your favourite cartridges wirelessly.
What is the difference from a Bluetooth controller?
The Origin8 uses 2.4 GHz technology with a dedicated receiver, more stable and with lower latency than standard Bluetooth. On the other hand, it requires the receiver (USB or NES): it does not connect directly via Bluetooth to smartphones, for example.
Is it compatible with Raspberry Pi (RetroPie, Recalbox, Batocera)?
Yes, via the included USB receiver, it is recognised as a standard USB controller on Raspberry Pi with RetroPie, Recalbox, Batocera or Lakka, as well as on Windows PC, Mac and Linux.
How long does the battery last?
The 500 mAh battery allows long gaming sessions (several hours). It is recharged via the included USB-C cable, and you can even play in wired mode while charging.
What are the ZL and ZR buttons for?
These additional triggers are absent from the original NES but essential on Nintendo Switch: they give access to save states, the rewind function and the Switch Online quick menus. Real added value for modern gaming comfort.
How does the Turbo function work?
