L'extension M.2 NVMe PCIe pour Argon ONE V3 replaces the base of your Argon ONE V3 case and adds an M.2 NVMe slot connected to the PCIe port of the Raspberry Pi 5. You keep your case and gain a fast SSD to boot the system, host your containers or store your media, with a dedicated heatsink for the drive.

Compatibility and pitfalls to avoid
- Designed exclusively for the Argon ONE V3 for Raspberry Pi 5: it fits neither the V2 (Pi 4) nor the V5.
- NVMe only : M.2 SATA SSDs are not supported.
- Tested SSDs by Argon40: Argon Dataterm, official Raspberry Pi SSD, WD SN740 and SN580, Samsung 980 and 980 Pro, Kingston KC3000, Lexar NM620, Crucial P2 and others. Other drives often work, without guarantee.
- Consumption : the Pi 5 PCIe port provides limited power; avoid very power-hungry high-end SSDs.
- Power supply : with an SSD, the 27 W USB-C power supply is strongly recommended.

Is the Argon ONE V3 NVMe expansion compatible with the Argon ONE V2?
No. It is designed for the Argon ONE V3 and the PCIe port of the Raspberry Pi 5. The V2 for Pi 4 uses a different M.2 SATA expansion.
Which SSDs are compatible?
M.2 NVMe M-key SSDs, from 2230 to 2280. Argon40 publishes a list of tested models.
Can the Pi 5 boot from the SSD?
Yes. Install the system on the SSD with Raspberry Pi Imager; the Pi 5 can boot from NVMe.
Is the PCIe ribbon cable included?
Yes, the controlled-impedance FPC ribbon cable is included along with the SSD heatsink.
