Description

The PG1302 is a high-performance LoRaWAN concentrator designed to receive multiple LoRa packets simultaneously on different channels and with different spreading factors. Based on the Semtech SX1302chip, this module offers sensitivity down to -140 dBm, making it perfectly suited to long-range networks with a high density of sensors.

This module is designed to be integrated into large-scale IoT applications such as smart metering, smart buildings, industrial or agricultural infrastructure and smart city networks. Its ability to efficiently handle up to several thousand nodes within the same area makes it a solid choice for professional deployments.

Architecture and compatibility

The PG1302 is fully compatible with:

  • Raspberry Pi 5
  • Raspberry Pi 3B / 3B+
  • Raspberry Pi 4
  • Raspberry Pi Zero
  • Tinker Board

The version offered includes a Mini-PCIe to Raspberry Pi converter, making hardware integration instant and easy.

Thanks to the SPIinterface, the module communicates directly with the Raspberry Pi and can run with standard LoRaWAN distributions, including ChirpStack or the LoRaWAN stacks precompiled by Dragino.

Radio performance

The PG1302 is based on the SX1302 architecture, offering:

  • Sensitivity: -140 dBm
  • Up to 27 dBm LoRaWAN Max Output transmit power
  • Full band support depending on the reference chosen:
    • EU868 / IN865
    • US915 / AU915 / AS923 / KR920
    • CN470

The module supports several simultaneous channels and several SFs in parallel, enabling dense and reliable LoRaWAN traffic, even in very busy areas.

Connectivity & interfaces

The module offers a complete interface for integration into existing systems:

  • SPI interface for LoRa control
  • mini-PCIe (power + I/O)
  • I-PEX connector dedicated to the LoRa antenna
  • 5 V, 1 A power supply
  • GPIO compatible via the Raspberry Pi

Together, this forms a compact solution that can be embedded in professional, industrial or maker enclosures.
