The Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ uses the same 64-bit quad-core 1.4 GHz processor, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 as the Raspberry Pi 3 B+, on a board measuring just 65 x 56 mm. Fewer ports, lower power consumption, same software: it is the ideal board for embedded projects that need neither Ethernet nor multiple USB ports.

Compatibility and pitfalls to avoid
- No Ethernet : the network connection is made over Wi-Fi. If you need an RJ45 port and 4 USB ports, choose the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+.
- Boxes : the A+ format is shorter than the B format, so cases for the Pi 3 B/B+ do not fit. Use the official Raspberry Pi 3 A+ case.
- Power supply : micro-USB, not USB-C. A 5 V / 2.5 A power supply is required.
- Memory : with 512 MB, opt for Raspberry Pi OS Lite for headless use.
What you need to get started
- L'official 12.5 W micro-USB power supply (5.1 V, 2.5 A), exactly the required rating.
- A SanDisk Ultra microSD card for the system.
- An official HDMI cable: the Pi 3 A+ has a full-size HDMI port, no adapter is needed.
